About the sun in Bled
Bled is one of the most photographed sunrise spots in the Alps. From the lake shore below the castle, the classic view looks south across the lake to the island church, with the Karavanke and Julian Alps around it. The surrounding mountains raise the horizon, so the sun appears here noticeably later and disappears earlier than the calculated times, especially in winter. On autumn mornings mist often lies on the lake, and viewpoints such as Ojstrica and Mala Osojnica rise above it.
